Week 27

A short week here at the School of the Holy Childhood, but what great work Mrs. P.'s class managed to fit into these last four days! Students kicked off this week with a great swimming lesson, learning how to float on our backs and bellies. We also reviewed some of our personal hygiene knowledge, stressing the importance of keeping ourselves clean and healthy both at home and at school.

A majority of our activities here in the classroom were Easter-themed this week, as the Easter bunny's favorite day is right arund the corner! For math and counting, Mrs. P. treated her class to a jellybean count and sort! Students first made estimated guesses regarding how many jelly beans they received, and then counted them to see how their predictions measured up. Students were then asked to sort them by color, before comparing which colors they had most of and which they had the least of. After all that hard work, you can guess what students got to do next!

In SPOT group this week, Mrs. P.'s class read a short story about Easter! In the story, the characters decorate Easter eggs and students were asked to be attentive to what happened first, next and last in the narrative's chain of events. After we completed this sequencing activity, students got to decorate their very own Easter eggs! These treasures will be coming home on the bus today, so please look for them to keep them safe and in tact!

We hope that everyone at home has a wonderful holiday and vacation! Please be reminded that the school will re-open on Monday, March 16th. See you then, and remember: practice your sight words!
